Subaru Impreza WRX STI

The 2008 edition of Subaru WRX STI possesses more refined ride and also a new look but the truth is all the changes make it a better performance car even if you are not a fan of hash backs any enthusiast has to admit the STI looks down right me with that monsters hood scoop and bulging fenders. The switch to a hash back body style has another benefit the swept back roof line and shoulder overhangs improve aerodynamics stability and handling agility. Subaru said the changes are necessary to keep the sti comparative in WRC rally. The more advantage of new shape is extra cargo space and a seat split function so that you can also use this STI as a family car, the interior is spacious a telescopic steering wheel and high adjustable seat accommodates drivers of all sizes. The seats of New STI provide both comfort and support. But this doesn't mean that STI has gone soft it still has the expected punch when you put your foot on the gas.

The new STI is turbocharged 2.5ltr flap-four delivers 305 horsepower. Its 290 pound feel of torque just as before but maximum torque now kicks in sooner at 4000rpm. Squeezing the throttle produces impressive thrust that we can steep in the rev range when the engine races straight for the rev line. The 2008 STI accelerates 0-60 in just 4.8 seconds. Subaru recommends 93octane petrol for best performance which is not easily available in countries. Thanks to all wheel drive wider 245 40-R 18 rubbers and a new double wish bone in the rear suspension. At 72mph WRX STI is quicker through the cones than the last Mitsubishi Evo which impressed me a lot, so quicker turning of a car is amazing when you see it practically, this will surely get you off from your seats if you are watching it while sitting on a chair. The STI's Stopping power has also improved i.e. its stopping distance from 60mph is a remarkable 106feet.The cars revised differential is a little more complex. Three computer regulated automatic settings are now provided instead of one all the familiar 6way manual adjustment continuous to be available for competition situation. The different settings are useful but they may be more than most people will need or even want.

All this performance and technology comes at a price the STI's base price is 135000$ which is unloaded with navigation and BBS wheels which came in just under 40000$additional if you want these but the new STI's is worth it, It performs better than the other cars in the range in most performance test and feels better on the road, it is also more useful and comfortable inside. True the all new WRX STI has lost a little of its edge but in the end the car proves you can have stunning performance without being harsh.

"The STI has grown up you should too."
