Recover from a Skid !

What's the best way not to get into a skid? Avoid it in the first place! One of the best ways to avoid trouble on the road (not just skids) is to drive smoothly. True professionals drive so seamlessly that you do not feel anything when they shift, turn, or brake. Plan ahead, watch carefully, and slow down, especially if you are unfamiliar with the road. Skids almost always happen because the vehicle was running too fast for conditions.

Be careful when conditions might be slippery, as this is when most skids occur. But no matter what the road's surface condition is, skids are caused by driver error. Try to turn too sharply, enter a turn too quickly, or use excessive acceleration or braking, and you'll get the chance to practice skids! Keep your brakes maintained and properly adjusted, because a lateral imbalance in your brakes can cause or aggravate a skid.

There are two common types of skids. "Over steer" (or fishtailing) occurs when your front wheels are taking a shorter path than desired and the rear-end breaks loose and fishtails. This is the result of power and side forces causing loss of traction on the rear wheels; there is too much power applied for the existing steering input and the resulting side forces cause the rear wheels to break free, often as a result of trying to accelerate out of a turn. "Under steer" (or plowing) occurs when you have too much steering input for the power you are applying (too sharp an angle between the tires and the direction of motion), and the front wheels skid ahead as a result.

Professional driving instructors advise a new way of teaching skid recovery, instead of the old rule, which was, "Turn into the skid." They say this "new" way is more understandable to non-professionals, but either way, they adamantly say the result is the same. This change was made because many folks didn't clearly understand what "turn into the skid" means.

If you find yourself in an over-steer skid, first thing to do is get off the gas, keep your foot off the brakes, or smoothly release brake pressure if already applied, and if you are driving a standard shift vehicle, disengage the clutch. Quickly turn the steering wheel in the direction you want the front of the car to go (down the road). Specifically, this means align your tires with the direction of your intended travel. As your vehicle turns back in the correct direction, you must then counter steer in time to stop the turning and stay on your desired path. If you do not do this promptly, the vehicle will continue to turn past your intended direction, and you may then skid in that direction. You may have to counter-steer more than once to get things under control.

There are two situations where the previous techniques could actually make the skid recovery more difficult. When you are driving either a front-wheel drive vehicle or a rear-wheel drive with the four-wheel drive engaged, a quick reduction on the accelerator can cause a result in a loss of control that mimics what happens when the brake pedal is depressed -- namely, the front wheels are slowed faster than the rear wheels increasing the over-steer skid problem. What is generally recommended is to place the vehicle into neutral (or depress the clutch) to allow the front wheels to coast as the vehicle is turned in the direction described above. My own experience is that control is much easier to reacquire by applying a steady pressure on the gas pedal as one "drives" out of the skid, but this assumes that the driver was traveling an appropriately slow speed to begin with.

For an under-steer skid, slightly reduce your steering input while slowing (without heavy braking) so you'll regain your directional control as the tires again grip the road surface. In this skid, the critical issue is to reduce speed so that you can regain a grip on the road and complete your turn. Even just a slight decrease in steering input, combined with the reduction in speed, may be enough to stop the skid from progressing.

These techniques are something you need to practice. If there are any high performance driving schools in your area, take advantage of the "safety" course they offer and you'll get the opportunity to practice skid recovery under safe, controlled conditions. You'll have a better idea of what to do, and a better idea of your own capabilities behind the wheel. I guarantee you will be a safer driver.

Keep the shiny side up!

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

The Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder has one of the most striking exterior shapes in the automotive world. But the Spyder don’t only looks good it’s seriously fast and has one of the most luxurious cabin in its segment. The Gallardo coupe is already impressive as a powerful Italian sports car. But the Spyder is more than just going fast it also offers exotic luxury and a design which commands attention and interest where ever it goes.

Locally the Gallardo gives an astonishing performance. Put on the gas and the car searches for an amassing force as the revs near 4000RPM the two stage exhaust valve open and V10 hovers like a formula 1 racer. Like the coupe the Spyder uses Lamborghini 520hp V10 engine available with six speed transmission and all wheel drive system. For the Spyder 0-60mph comes up in just over 4seconds and breaking is equally outstanding with the 60-0 stopping distance of just 104feet. These numbers are even more outstanding when you consider Spyder’s 250 pound weight gain compare to the coupe. Most of the extra weight comes in the form of structural reinforcements and Lamborghini’s hard work pays off.

Well the Gallardo Spyder does provide excellent handling and spectacular acceleration and breaking, on the other hand the Gallardo spyder has truly luxurious cabin, the leather is soft and supple and the metallic trim around the gages, dashboard and steering wheel as a polished and upscale look adding severity and functionality with its good working MMI. The Gallardo Spyder also provides the navigation system, a great sounding stereo, head protecting airbags. It’s easy to justify Spyder’s 200000$ plus price tag based only on its speed and agility. But in the end it’s the Gallardo spyder’s civilized interior, luxurisity and features and striking exterior look that he is in the competition.

Mazda Miata MX-5 (Hard top)

Mazda’s new MX-5 with the power of folding hard top is easily the best Miata yet. The MX-5 roadster already has one of the most simple soft top, so i won’t really looking for replacement. It is also the risk with the resulting complexity and weight of that hard top could loosen Miata’s focused reflexes, in fact the hard top does add about 70 pounds of extra weight. But the average driver doesn’t feel any difference in the miata’s performance.

To counter the added weight mazda had to make some changes at their front end and on rear spring. A notable exception in this mazda from the later one was measure interiors, at 70mph with the hard top the mazda is much quieter and more civilized inside. Changing from a cozy hard top to an open top sports car is a simple almost effortless two step task, up or down the whole production takes place in under 12 seconds.

Unbelievably trunk space is not compromised and a hard top MX-5 has a little more overall cargo volume. Thanks to a slightly higher rear deck let. Base price for a miata with the power of attractable top is about 1800$ more as it is similar to soft top miata, with the added comfort, convenience and true convertibility are more than worth it. Thankfully the addition of folding hard top doesn’t noticeably change the MX-5 miata’s character. It is still one of the best roadsters around and its latest version is frankly the best miata yet.

This is a story about the person which is known to the entire world with his red color and red Ferrari, the most famous motorist till existed and which made motor sport a famous sport to watch he none other than Michael Schumacher. Michael was born in a small town of Germany and from the early years of his life he wanted to be a race driver. So he often goes for go carting in the nearby go carting circuit. His family was not so wealthy so that he can continue to drive and fulfill his passion of driving. So his mother started to work on the go carting circuit canteen to earn some money and his father has a small garage so that their son can fulfill his dream. After collecting some cash Michael’s father made a cheap go cart car for his son which was enough for the little Schumacher to show his talent. Michael started with this new go cart made by his father with cheap parts and goes on victory most of the times on the track. One time a car company’s person saw Michael’s driving and he was amassed to saw Michael flying through the laps and decided to sponsor Michael Schumacher.

After the Michael Schumacher got its first sponsor, he and his family got too happy by this which will also help them wealthly. Now Michael has a new go- cart to race with, and after this Michael won the his first ever go carting championship which increased his sponsors and fans. Michael now took part in GP series with his team and flagged many victories there also and thus at last transmitted to F1 Racing with Jordan ford team and recorded a good time with them and some victories also many conflicts with people also. In 1996, Schumacher joined Scuderia Ferrari S.P.A., a team which had last won the Drivers' Championship with Jody Scheckter in 1979 and which had not won the Constructors' Cup since 1983. At that time Ferrari was not having good times with their car and merely got any win so Michael never thought that he would be joining this team which has many problems with their cars, But after taking with ferrari’s Chairman and Ferrari persons he get a different felling with them and thus ultimately join ferrari S.P.A team.

The day Michael joined Ferrari S.P.A team like the problems of Ferrari cars ended that day only and the car was giving superb performance with his mew driver Michael Schumacher and then the red color of ferrari was just attached with Michael Schumacher that the never left the team after that and has won Seven Championships (1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004) and five consecutive wins in his full driving career which is a record. So in today’s date he is known as the red baron.

Besides this Michael is also having a nice heart Schumacher has been honoured many times during his career. In April 2002, for his contributions to sport and his contributions in raising awareness of child education, he was named as one of the UNESCO Champions for sport. He has also given many million dollars to help people when Tsunami came in Asia. This is Michael Schumacher the red baron the real motorist.

Yamaha FZ - s (Speedy, Stable, Stylish)

When we think of a real muscle bike in today date it will be the yamaha's FZ 16 who worth this title and now it will its new hard model FZ - s which has got its look from global FZ series . The part which adds star to its personality and looks, making it more impressive in the view of people's because a real muscle should have a large tyres (i.e. ground clearance), a open body type and good graphics in which the Yamaha bike makers have given full interest this time and the first time in India. The sales should gradually increase like wise the new color scheme has also introduced by the Yamaha corporation.

Each and every part of FZ16 has been designed with a lot of detailed attention and careful thought. This ultimate degree of perfection means even the slightest feature has not been overlooked. Only Yamaha ensures this kind of craftsmanship.

The rider and the machine share a feeling of oneness, and from different angles the impression is different. This is particularly because the finest components have been used in its precise manufacturing. The FZ16 possesses both a rough and brutish expression as well as a certain subtlety. This high quality masterpiece will without doubt become a rage for the next generation.

Engine & Features

FZ16 is powered by a 153cc, air cooled, 4 stroke, SOHC engine which generates maximum power of 14 Bhp @ 7500 rpm with maximum torque of 13.6 Nm @ 6000 rpm. The 153cc engine of this bike is designed for the urban commute. The broad tyres, low center of gravity and high torque at low rpm makes it a breeze to drive in city traffic.

The bike covers the world standard 0-60 kmph sprint in just 5.5 seconds. The mid range thrust and the highly tuned throttle responses are designed to give you the feel of an ultra-powerful bike in the urban ride. The meters on the FZ - s are installed in a Full Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). The speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and other indicators are set in optimum position to keep the field of vision clear. Also, the engine starting signal is an example of the spirit of innovation.

The steel fuel tank with a plastic resin outer cover takes advantage of the freedom of shaping that plastic provides, giving the tank cover a powerful shape with modulations suggestive of the muscular body of an athlete. To give a sense of volume to the machine, an external diameter of 35mm is adopted in a two-layer type exhaust to minimize the effect of heat on the pipe.

The layout features a large-volume primary character on the underside of the crankcase. The muffler is an irregular shaped tapered type mid-ship muffler. A Monocross rear suspension unit provides 120 mm of wheel travel, while optimized oil and damping valve specs help ensure agile running performance and handling. It inhibits bottoming while riding with a tandem passenger as well as providing a very comfortable ride. The petrol tank, silensor, the yellow-gold plated rear shock absorber and fat tyres give enough clues to the true strength of the Yamaha FZ - s motorcycle - torque that is a bit higher than the 160 Apache RTR and tuned for acceleration and mid-range than outright top speed. FZ16 gets its DNA from global FZ series of Yamaha motorcycles. Fat tyres at the rear, beefy tank, beefy front fork compliment the FZ16’s muscular character, which has become a huge hit among the young crowd in India.
